Support : Planned Giving

An Enduring Legacy

Legacy gifts strengthen the Blairstown Museum's endowment, provide much-needed annual income, and support its extraordinary collection and community programs. By including the Blairstown Museum in your long-term plans, you can achieve the goals that are important to you — to benefit yourself, your family, and an institution that you value and believe in.

In addition to a bequest in your will, there are other ways you may make a legacy gift. You can name the Blairstown Museum as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, or life insurance policy. If you are looking for a way to supplement your income, you can establish a charitable gift annuity, or a charitable remainder trust, which are gifts that will support the Blairstown Museum and pay you, and/or other designated beneficiaries, income for life.

All those who have established a planned gift are recognized with membership in the Blairstown Museum's "1899 Society™".

Ways to Give

Bequests

One of the easiest and most popular ways to make a planned gift is to include the Blairstown Museum in your will or revocable living trust.

Artifact or Object Donation

The gift of historic documents, photographs and artifacts is a wonderful way to preserve and share your family's story and love of history with future generations.

Charitable Gift Annuities

A Charitable Gift Annuity provides you with regular fixed payments annually (an annuity) for life in exchange for transferring assets to the Blairstown Museum.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

A Charitable Remainder Trust is an agreement between you and a trustee that can provide fixed or variable income to meet your specific financial needs, at the termination of which the remaining assets are passed to the Blairstown Museum.

Charitable Lead Trusts

A Charitable Lead Trust enables you to preserve a portion of your estate and pass assets tax-free to your heirs.

Gifts of Plans and Policies

IRAs and qualified retirement plans like 401(k)s are some of the best assets to leave to charity. You may also designate the Blairstown Museum as owner and/or beneficiary of a life insurance policy.

Gifts of Real Estate

The gift of your primary residence or a vacation home is a unique and meaningful way to support the Blairstown Museum.
