We Have You Covered
WiFi

Internet coverage throughout the greater Blairstown area is often inaccessible. Thankfully, we offer a solution. The Blairstown Museum provides guests with free wireless access. Your mobile device should automatically connect to our free WiFi network. If it does not, you are welcome to switch to our always reliable, always free WiFi network (Blairstown Museum Guest) for faster download speeds.

In addition to enjoying free uninterrupted WiFi Access, as a Museum guest you may also utilize our free mobile device charging station located in our Lounge Area. This is just another way for us to make your time here more enjoyable. After all, this is a community museum.. your museum.

Looking Backwards, Forwards
Digital Books

Every person, place and thing has a story to tell – and in that respect, Blairstown is no different. We are grateful for the opportunity to interpret their stories. However, for many people, viewing artifacts can be “boring”. It’s no secret that our exhibit space is small – small enough that if you blink you may miss it. Okay, perhaps it isn’t THAT small, but you understand our point. To make the most of our space and your experience, we kicked it up a notch by implementing a few digital features.

Framing the gallery space are three high-definition media monitors designed to enhance a visitor’s experience. Comfortable seating, a warm cup of coffee or tea and a view of Main Street creates the perfect space for guests to enjoy one of our Historic Digital Books. They offer guests the opportunity to view historic postcards, literature, photographs, yearbooks and even profiles of many beloved and celebrated individuals.

You may contact us to include your historic photographs in our collection.

Where Old Friends Meet.. New Friends
Lounge

Due to its many well-preserved 19th-century buildings, Blairstown’s Historic District is on the National Register of Historic Places. The town is named in honor of John Insley Blair (1802-1899); an American entrepreneur, railroad magnate, philanthropist and one of the 19th century’s wealthiest men.

For over 175 years Blairstown’s Historic District has been home to a variety of businesses where residents and visitors dine, shop, and conduct their affairs. All of this hustling and bustling can leave one weary and in need of a pleasant place to rest. The Blairstown Museum’s Lounge Area offers comfortable seating, subscription-based magazines, free mobile device charging stations, free WiFi Internet access, and a delightful view of Main Street. Often stated, it has become the new General Store, where neighbors meet to reminisce and visitors inquire on the latest events.

A Tisket, A Tasket
Toys

There isn’t any doubt that being a parent is challenging. Children can become restless and lose focus or attention. At the Blairstown Museum, your children can play within sight while you enjoy the exhibits and shopping. Within our Lounge Area, children may spend time playing with Mrs. Potato Head, Etch A Sketch, and even WoolyWilly. We also offer Fidget Cubes. For kids that prefer to read, we have age appropriate books. For the safety of all, items are disinfected after every use.

This is just another way for us to make your time here more enjoyable.

Souvenir Shops

As an IRS Certified 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, non-profit organization, the Blairstown Museum generates the majority of its funding through generous financial donors. However, we also offer residents and visitors with the opportunity to support our organization by purchasing affordable, quality items from our two in-house Souvenir Shops. Within these spaces, guests will find Blairstown Museum flair, postcards, magnets, licensed Friday the 13th merchandise, and locally sourced products from our broad community of local artists, crafters, farmers, and entrepreneurs.

If you would like to be considered as a Souvenir Shop vendor, please complete our form below. Typically, we offer apparel, artwork, decor, home goods, jewelry, and packaged food from licensed providers. Please note, aside from Blairstown Museum provided flare, our Friday the 13th Souvenir Shop only offers Friday the 13th themed products.
